Growing up Comix Rocked!!

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

I can’t sleep because my head is still spinning from the awesomeness that was last night’s opening of Growing up Comix. The rain could in no way dampen the mood as friends, family, and tons of peeps filled the Arts Center/South Florida gallery in SoBe Miami.  It was such a trip seeing more than 20 years of my art on the walls while complete strangers scrutinized some of my most intimate work. I am so stoked to see how well received my work from the 90s was including the StarMan fan fiction I did back in ‘99. Wowee, holy sh*t it was amazing!!

Madoff is our Shabbatai Zvi

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

So I really think that this whole scandal is our generation’s equivalent of the false messanism that was Shabbatai Zvi. Go google that name and check out how that guy’s story overlaps with Bernie Madoff. New York Magazine’s Madoff/Joker cover is just the beginning. Bernie has just entered an infamous rogues gallery. He has single handily validated every shyster yid money grubbing stereotype that has every been. How do we reconcile that as a people? Self-hating Jews the world round now have hours of fresh material for their therapy sessions.

Purim Pandemonium!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

This Thursday, March 5th, marks the opening of my first major solo show for Megillat Esther. The Jewish Museum of Maryland in Baltimore has put together an amazing exhibition of nearly 50 pages of original art as well as large format prints of the illustrations and a short video of yours truly breaking down the process of making a biblical graphic novel. If you’re in Baltimore on March 5th from 8-11PM come check out the show and other festivities in celebration of Purim.
